Leo holds degrees in electrical engineering as well as measurement and control engineering. After graduation he worked for United Glass in the Netherlands as project engineer before joining Shell International in 1986. He held various production operational roles such as exploration welltest and production supervisor for Petroleum Development in Oman, followed by offshore installation manager and operations control centre manager in Brunei starting in 1992. Since 1998, he worked as a senior project manager in Houston and then transferred to LEAP, a corporate group working on strategy related change programs and business improvement programs such as focused results delivery. In his most recent position he was leading the Smart Platform and Product group consisting Shell’s entire real-time application portfolio with a staff upwards of 100 engineers. During his tenure in Shell his work was nominated for the Platts award in New York and Energy Institute award in London.
