Paul has been a serial CFO of private equity backed technology businesses for the last 15 years achieving 5 successful exits in that period. Most recently, he was CFO of the Access Group, the UK market leader in the supply of ERP systems to mid-sized corporates, which was sold to TA Associates in a secondary buy-out transaction in January 2015. He has since stepped down as CFO in order to pursue a career as a non-executive director advising growing technology businesses on a range of strategic issues.
Prior to joining the Access Group, Paul was CFO of Masternaut, the leading provider of vehicle telematics solutions in Europe, which was sold to FleetCor in early 2014. Before joining Masternaut, Paul was CFO of Sophis, the global provider of risk management systems to investment banks, asset managers and hedge funds, which was sold to Misys plc in 2011. Paul has worked with some of the most prestigious private equity firms including Francisco Partners, TA Associates, Lyceum, Advent International, Cognetas and Permira.
Prior to working for private equity portfolio companies, Paul held a number of senior positions with large blue-chip technology organisations, latterly as European Finance Director for the Australian telecommunications group, Telstra.
Paul qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse in London and holds an engineering degree from Imperial College, London and a MBA from Henley Management College.
