Joint Industry Projects – Canada
Two members of Dashboard’s Technical team; Andy Philp (Programme Manager) and Steve Webber (Senior Technical Architect) recently visited SRC’s (Saskatchewan Research Council) Pipe Flow Technology Centre (http://www.src.sk.ca/facilities/pages/pipe-flow-technology-centre.aspx) to discuss the forthcoming JIP (Joint Industry Project) and the test/validation work for Dashboard’s Pipeline Integrity Technology is due to be carried out at the Saskatoon site. In the course of the site visit, Andy and Steve met with Mike Crabtree (VP Energy), Paul Paynter (Dir. Business Development), Lesley McGilp (Manager Pipe Flow Technology Centre), Darren Anweiler (Manager Process Development) & Melissa McKibben (Principal Research Engineer, PFTC) to hold a comprehensive review of the project scope.
The meetings held focused on Dashboard’s evaluation SRC’s facilities as an environment in which to conduct the independent industrial testing/validation phases for the Limpet pipeline integrity solution with intentions to move closer to commercial field deployments in Canada further reinforced with SRC being a technical partner.
Andy Philp (Programme Manager) and Steve Webber (Senior Technical Architect) also travelled to C-FER (East) Technologies laboratory in Edmonton (http://www.cfertech.com) to visit Mathew Bussiere (Research Engineer) for a tour of the site and evaluate how C-FER technologies can support the development of Dashboard’s Pipeline Integrity Technology with its testing, integrity and safety validation methods, to assist in getting us closer to commercial field trials in Canada.
This is part of our continued approach for building support for an industry wide JIP (Joint Industry Project) which will be coordinated by PTAC (the Petroleum Technology Alliance of Canada, http://www.ptac.org/).
